Check your Pulse in Viigo

For all you Plaxo users, did you know that you can follow your Plaxo Pulse (i.e. what’s happening in your network) live on Viigo? It’s easy, just head over to http://pulse.plaxo.com/pulse/rss and select the feeds you want to track (Business Network, Friends, Family, Me). Select and copy the RSS URL of one of the feeds … then, in another browser window head over to My Viigo (www.viigo.com and click on “My Viigo” on the menu bar), sign in and select “Add Web Feed” and then Paste the feed link into the field marked URL and click on Subscribe. Do this for all the feeds you wish to track.

The next time Viigo updates, you will see the Plaxo feed(s) … and you can keep an eye on what your network is up to (who’s got a new job, who’s connecting to whom, who’s posted a new blog entry, etc.)

About Plaxo

For those who don’t know, Plaxo is a great online social networking tool which lets you stay easily connected to the people that matter the most to you. Plaxo Pulse divides all your contacts (from major social networks like LinkedIn) into three categories: Friends, Family, and Business – further, with the click of a button, Plaxo will import all your contacts from all your existing address books as well:  Microsoft Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo!, Hotmail, America Online, and LinkedIn… enabling you to quickly and effortlessly organize all the relevant information from all of your social networks into one place in no time at all.  (whew… long sentence, I know). Head over to www.plaxo.com for more information.

Viigo Secures First Round of VC Financing

Viigo is excited to announce that it has closed its first round of Venture Capital. The round was lead by Ventures West, a private venture capital investment group that is one of Canada’s leading investors in early stage technology companies.

Ted Anderson, President of VW and member of Viigo’s B.O.D. noted, “Migrating content and services to mobile devices has historically been a very challenging task for publishers and service providers. Viigo has developed a groundbreaking solution to this problem.”

While our Channel Library currently offers free access to some of life’s useful content - Traffic Alerts, Weather Reports, Local Event Listings, Package Tracking, etc. - over the next few months we plan to unveil a broader range of even more compelling services, further unshackling you from the chains of your desktop. We can’t wait to show you what we have in store.

“The rise of the Smartphone has created an unprecedented opportunity for the delivery of powerful and useful services to the palms of people’s hands,” said Mark Ruddock, President and CEO of Viigo.  “Although this potential remains largely unrealized, Viigo is poised to change that.”

We’d like to send out a big heart-filled thank you to our current users, whose continued support, passion and engagement drives us to create the most compelling mobile internet experience on the planet… THANK YOU!

As always – please send your ideas, feedback, comments and suggestions to ‘feedback (at) viigo (dot) com’ – and be sure to send Viigo to all your friends.   ;~)
