Virtual Reach Introduces Mobile Search Functionality and My Newsclip, a Desktop Content Management Interface for Newsclip

Toronto, ON, - 6 June 2006 - Virtual Reach Inc., a leading developer of mobile applications for accessing the Internet, announced today the addition of several new and exciting features in their latest version of Newsclip. Among them are a "Full Article" view, a Mobile Search feature accessing Google, Yahoo, and MSN, and a desktop interface with which users can manage their Newsclip accounts and content from a PC.

The desktop interface represents a significant milestone for Newsclip within a strategic development cycle for Virtual Reach. There had been considerable demand for the feature since the launch of Newsclip. My Newsclip now makes it possible to edit and manage your content from your desktop. With this version, all new accounts have a username assigned to them and a personalized password is easy to create. Users then use that same username and password to login into their account at www.virtualreach.com/mynewsclip.

Not only will subscribers be able to add and remove feeds, they will also be able to synch Newsclip with any My Yahoo or Bloglines account, the most widely used desktop aggregators in the market today. “As a mobile application,” commented Brian Goldberg, President of Virtual Reach, “the value and practical use of Newsclip has increased tremendously with the desktop interface of My Newsclip. With the ability to synch, it’s effectively become a powerful extension of the wired world of content consumption on the desktop,” he added.

In addition to My Newsclip, Virtual Reach added Mobile Search functionality to Newsclip. Using the main menu, subscribers can choose to search for feeds containing news and information by entering keywords and search terms. Once entered, users then choose from Google, Yahoo, or MSN to perform the search. The results are returned as a web feed within the mainview. “With the new Mobile Search functionality, Newsclip is most certainly on the bleeding edge of mobile technology,” said Goldberg. “Given the increasing popularity of search in general, this latest version of Newsclip addresses and exemplifies a replication of user expectations from wired to wireless environments.”

Newsclip also contains a “Full Article” view, thus removing the need to launch an external browser to retrieve the entire contents of an article. The option to “Open Article Link” remains, but the “Full Article” view represents a much faster and efficient means of delivering content to the device.

The features are already incorporated into the latest version of Newsclip on all platforms. Existing subscribers can install the new version from the Virtual Reach website, www.virtualreach.com.
